When everyone catches on

Updated: Feb 22, 2019

It's an exciting time to be a creative, and it's even more exciting to work with video. The vast majority of companies are slowly catching on to the dynamism of good video content and the social media world is leading that revolution through proven success and numbers-based exponential growth.

The statistics (if you are into that sort of thing) are almost funny.

1200% growth year on year ...

85% retention over 10% (non video) ...

Predictions suggest that 80% of internet traffic will be consuming video by 2019. That's not far away.

Video and photography now document just about everything. From the world's wars and acts of atrocity (17 years on from 9/11 and the horror of those attacks, and even less from the numerous attacks in my home London), to celebrities shopping, kids watching other kids playing video games, and people live-streaming much of their days.

Video is everywhere.

It has never been more clear - if you needed convincing - that video is a modern tool for this age, and a helpful tool to get your message out there! But its more than that.

Visual Communication (Vis.Comm) can explain why video is effective, and can also give you the tools to understand how to do everything better (not just moving image). There are building blocks to effective video strategy, and they come from standard attention analysis and visual communication skills that we all do in everyday life, and GREAT speakers use them far more frequently than the average Jane or John. We'll cover some basics on HOW in another post. More on Vis.Comm, creativity and life soon.
